Following is a list of requirements for an individual to join District 3:

            Meet with a Station Chief or the District Chief to request an application.

Complete an application and submit a petition to join.

Be accepted by the District Board of Trustees.

 

If accepted, initial three month probationary period certification requirements:

Obtain certifications from web based training in Incident Command, “ICS 100 and 200” and National Incident Management System, “NIMS 700 and 800”.

Obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.

Become fully trained on their station’s apparatus and equipment by completing the District’s (RPT) Recruit Placement Training.

 

Other requirements following the probationary period to remain a member:

Have a working understanding of the District’s Standard Operational Guidelines.

Attend a minimum of 50% of all Station meetings.

Attend a minimum of 25% all District training sessions.

            These minimums must include one session per calendar quarter.

Actively participate in emergency alarms per each calendar quarter.

 

A full and complete list of all membership requirements are provided to all recruits.

 

Following is a basic list of benefits provided to members:

All personal protective and safety equipment is provided that would be necessary for any member to perform required duties.

All members are covered by workers compensation insurance.

All members are provided with accidental death and disability insurance.

All members are also provided a 24 hour coverage death and disability benefit.

All members are paid to attend monthly training.

All members are offered certain immunizations at no cost to them.

 

Over the past few years Bourbon County Fire District # 3, “BC3FD” has made great strides in updating equipment and improving capabilities with highly trained and motivated personnel. We are committed to protecting life, property and the environment in our community through teamwork and innovation with professionally trained personnel and equipment provided by our community.
